Chris Fladgate is an accomplished lawyer with over 25 years of experience, known for his expertise in construction law, commercial litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. He has built a distinguished career representing domestic and international clients in complex legal matters, earning a reputation for precision, pragmatism, and being results-driven.

In construction law, Chris is a trusted advisor to owners, design professionals, and contractors, handling high-stakes disputes, contract negotiations, and risk management for projects in the hundreds of millions of dollars. His clients value his ability to anticipate challenges and craft strategic solutions to safeguard their interests at all stages of construction projects.

Chris is equally skilled in dispute resolution – both arbitration and litigation - representing clients in domestic and international matters before various arbitral bodies, and in state and federal courts. Chris acts as lead counsel in complex multimillion-dollar cases involving contractual disputes, commercial disputes, business divorces, and intellectual property matters.

Chris also represents numerous whistleblowers, under the Dodd-Frank, before the SEC, the CFTC, and the Department of Justice. Information provided by his clients has led to almost $1 billion in fines being issued, and contributed to investigations relating to market manipulation, large scale international mining projects, and governance and compliance failures by some of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Chris acts as an independent arbitrator and mediator. As an arbitrator, Chris has been appointed to over 100 matters, as chair, co-arbitrator, and single arbitrator. He is on numerous arbitration rosters, including, the American Arbitration Association Commercial and Consumer panels, as well as the FINRA panel. As a mediator, Mr. Fladgate is a member of various court-annexed mediation programs.

Chris is an adjunct professor at the New York Law School Mediation Clinic, and has been a guest speaker on international commercial arbitration at Seton Hall Law School. He is the co-chair of the New York State Bar Association, Dispute Resolution Section, International Dispute Resolution committee, and the co-chair of the New York Lawyers Association ADR Committee.

Mr. Fladgate also dedicates a significant amount of his time to volunteer and pro bono work, and sits on the board of a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the mental health challenges facing first responders.

As a dual citizen of Australia and Canada, who is admitted to practice in New York and Australia, Chris brings a global perspective to his work. His dedication to his clients and his ability to navigate legal challenges make him a sought-after attorney for clients seeking strategic counsel and effective advocacy.
